Will You Pay Tax for Your Blog(s)
Written by WishBoNe on December 22, 2007 – 8:32 pmWith everyone blogging and writing online this days, the law is catching up on those of us who are earning big bucks online. Here, we are asked if we are willing to pay for Internet tax. So, by earning money, I am supposed to be taxed up, down, left, right on any amount I’m earning online and offline? Oh my. The online world is so lucrative these days that we are supposed to report all our income and being taxed just because we are earning some pitiful amount of money, right?
Let’s see why we are choosing some people to be in the high places:
We live in an environment where we’re overtaxed and under-rewarded. With grand promises of better education, more paved roads and public works, lawmakers do whatever they can to take our tax money. And unfortunately, we sometimes fall for it.
Oh yea, we do fall for the promises like lift upgrades and more wheelchair friendly pavements too. I’m not earning much online, it’s for hosting and domain fees. I don’t even rely on the Internet to promote my services either. No one is hiring me for freelance work too. So, I don’t wished to be taxed just because I’m trying to earn that pitiful amount for my hosting and domain fees.
I doubt this way of earning is even considered as Corporate Tax as defined in the scope. Does this even count as freelance from home? It doesn’t even have anything related to the 4-line statement. How do I project the profit and loss for blogging? I do this for fun.
