Sex Offenders Given Limited Web Access

Written by WishBoNe on December 28, 2007 – 3:38 pm

Sex offenders in Florida and Nevada will be having limited web access.

Convicted sex offenders who used the Internet to help them commit their crimes will be banned from using the Internet under a measure signed into law Thursday.

The bill applies to people who, for example, lured a potential victim through e-mail or other electronic messages. It also affects paroled sex offenders under lifetime supervision, but exempts computer work done as part of a job or search for employment.

Looks like periodic checks will be in place for them too. The Internet is both a bane and a boon. Either you get thrills from eating someone you contacted with online or you get a thrill watching all R-rated photographs or videos or video-chats.

Selecting Broadband Plans

Written by WishBoNe on December 18, 2007 – 3:49 pm

The Internet has been around for quite some time. Dial up plans were the only plans available when I first used the Internet. It was a few years later when broadband was introduced. It was mostly used in businesses due to the pricing issue. Later on, it started to be used more in homes than just for businesses. With the various choices available for broadband, which one should you choose?

Do you choose this particular for speed, price, security or services? We choose a particular ISP because of word of mouth most of the time. Shows you just how powerful word of mouth marketing still is, huh? Cheap broadband can be found these days too. You just pay in the following format: 18 month contract - £8.95 for the first 6 months, £17.99 thereafter.

With a download speed of 8Mbp provided by BT Broadband, Wifi, and other options of unlimited downloads, what else can you ask for?

What I’ll Be Doing This Christmas

Written by WishBoNe on November 29, 2007 – 2:33 pm

This Christmas, I’m going to stay at home and switch off every electric appliance to save on the electricity cost except for the washing machine and refrigerator. Feasible? No TV and no Internet? I can live without a TV but the net? NO!

What I can do on the other hand, is that I can stop using the laptop for one day and interact with my family more. Besides, it’s the holidays and what better time to break away from my net-hogging days for one day. It’ll be No Net for Christmas Day.
