Facebook Pet Games

Facebook has a lot of applications related to pets. Apparently, humans are obsessed with pets in both real and virtual. However, if we neglect the pets in virtual, except for SPCA’s virtual pet site, the pets won’t die. In real life, pets die.

Currently, I’m playing 2 pet games; (fluff) Friends and Pet Society. These games have been developed by different companies and are fun to play. Actually, (fluff) Friends was fun to play for a while until somehow, something is lacking.

That was when I was flooded with requests to join Pet Society by 6 friends, no less. So, I decided to see what I can do there. What makes Pet Society different from (fluff) Friends is that the pets have animations. They laugh, yawn, dance and smile. It’s also what attract kids from ages 6 onwards to play it.

In Pet Society, you can dress up your pets, feed them and bathe them. You can also run races 10 times per day to earn coins and paw points. At certain stages, your house will be upgraded with one more room and so far, I’m stuck with 5 rooms.

While Pet Society allows the players to change the pet’s appearance from the ears to the mouth, (fluff) Friends only allows you to change the type of pet and starting from scratch again as the pet’s speed starts from minimum if around 200.

Both (fluff) Friends and Pet Society have forums whereby trades can be done but as usual, you don’t want to be scammed into giving away your hardearned points to someone who has no intention of giving you the promised stuff.

Giveaways and contests are also going on at different times depending on the person who feels like Santa Claus. How long a game is being played is up to the individual’s interest and I feel it’s a pity that (fluff) Friends is losing its lustre; perhaps the mini games are no longer that attractive.

How I Prevent Random Facebook Add Requests

Written by WishBoNe on February 20, 2009 – 8:30 am

I have a thing about privacy online and have done it to the extreme especially for Facebook. My privacy level for even searching my name is limited to Friends of Friends. It helps that I don’t get random people trying to add me to their collection of girls being friends with a guy whose sole purpose is to collect babes online.

I thought it was just Friendster. Apparently, no. Some guys just have this idea in their heads thinking that by adding 5000 female friends, they are deemed Adonis. I think Adonis was just a himbo without brains. After changing my privacy level once, I immediately had this Adonis wannabe adding me with no message whatsoever. Which I think was a good thing because I don’t think my reply would have been nice.

I wasn’t even using my real photo. Thank God. See how paranoid I am online? Even photos and videos tagged of me are being limited to groups of friends whom I have actually met and spent some time with.

I will stick to limiting my name being searched within my tiny circle. Enlarging it to network screams “Come Add me anytime!” That is something that I don’t really welcome.

I Want This HP Designer Laptop Because

Written by WishBoNe on February 11, 2009 – 2:38 pm

I never had the opportunity to own one and I want. *little girl’s voice who demanded in this commercial.*

Frankly speaking, I am attracted to the red hot number and floral designs on the cover. I like to think of it when I take it out and people just swivel their heads hard enough to just nearly dislocate their heads from their necks just to view my sexy laptop. Oh dear, I’m getting carried away with the head part.

I have been approached by strangers asking me about PDA mobile after seeing me use with such ease. Therefore, if I were to be approached by anyone asking about this HP Vivienne Tam Laptop when I whip it out with ease, I am happy to oblige any information.

Ok, I’m telling the truth, I just want this because it’s an ice breaker when I’m utterly bored on the train. Hey, I can finally blog on the move when I have it too!

Successful and Outstanding Blog Secrets Revealed

Written by WishBoNe on February 6, 2009 – 6:11 pm

How does one become a success with blogging? With so many blogs out there vying for the attention, it is a miracle that some blogs are having much better success than others. Mine? It’s just anther blog with some random IT stuff thrown in here.

Now, Liz Strauss is a well-known blogger and I’ll have you know that blogging isn’t dated no matter what Tan Weizhen from Straits Times says. I still have a reasonable number of traffic to this blog. I must say that I’m impressed with the information that is dished out on how to make your blog into a community.

If you want your blog to be a success and stand out from the web, check out her book. Otherwise, continue struggling to write paid posts, paid links, paid surveys, setup your own online store without worring about the logistics and sell your products online.

Although, I won’t complain about residual income.

Classified Comes With Pick Up Lines

Written by WishBoNe on February 5, 2009 – 6:52 pm

I have signed up with classifieds targeted at the local market. I thought mIRC was dead. So, I decided to check on its status. It is still there but it has lost is lustre. I used to, hang on, I’m telling grandmother stories again. Where was I?

Oh, about classifieds online for local market. So, I signed up with Get.Sg, 88DB, RedAd, eMall and a few others. Some of them provide private messages and so far my private messages have been few but mind boggling.

Your no pls. – I don’t even know how to respond since the sender didn’t exactly leave me any way to reply. It was to buy the sub woofer. I got put link lei.

Hi, wanna talk? – Look, dude, buddy or whatever animal you decided to name yourself, I post ads there to sell items, if you wanna talk, gimme the money and buy my stuff, ya?

If you want me to respond, check out the basic decency, then I will respond. Lame pick up lines will be ignored.

Jorbb: Your Gateway to a New Job

Written by WishBoNe on February 5, 2009 – 9:55 am

Thanks to TYB’s introduction, I decided to try out Jorbb. Actually, it was the part time position that did it. I’m really into such things since I do like flexibility to manage my time. After playing with the site updating my job profile, I found some interesting things that are different from JobsDB, JobStreet and other Singaporean job search sites.

I Like

  • The tabs that are easy to understand, one look and you know what you need to do.
  • Ease of editing the profile and most important, updating the email.
  • Maps provided for the Jorbbees (the job seeker) and Jorbbers (the employer).
  • Credits earned from referrals, blogging about the site, posting testimonials and more. No other job search sites let you do that for exchanging the credits for gifts.
  • Featured Jorbbees and Jorbbers.
  • The cute mascot for Jorbb.

I Dislike

  • Since I have entered my email address, why do I still need to enter it for the job alert portion? Is it for convenience or something?
  • My portion to update the Previous Employer section refused to be updated. I didn’t update Current Employer, is that important?
  • After trying to just upload my resume, there is an error and I have to click on Edit again to complete the process. Perhaps adding “required” next to the text resume would help.
  • Adsense in the blog gives the feeling that it still isn’t professional enough. Maybe because the site is still in beta mode.
  • Logged out of the session after some time. I do remember being idle for this case, maybe can include a notice on how long the session will log out if I have been idle for some time.

Overall, I do like the prospect of being rewarded for my job hunting efforts. Sign up if you haven’t.
