I Nearly Died Due to Work Stress

I used to work in a dynamic workplace. Take the meaning of dynamic in whatever translation you wished. Not that I wasn’t able to catch up but I found that it became overwhelming and tiring at the same time after a few months. I had to manage users who loved to call me directly instead of the helpdesk and users who loved to change the specifications constantly.

I even had to cope with users who love to write love letters, as in complains. Not the lovey-dovey that kind. After a few months, I started to get flu easily. I usually had to take 2 days of medical leave. It was horrible. In addition, I had to work overtime until midnight or 4am and still had to work at 8.30am the next morning. I was dying there.

I felt stressed and unhappy while working there, totally killing my passion from that point onwards. Perhaps, that could be the reason why I haven’t been able to stay for too long. I don’t want the doctor to tell me that I’m dying soon. Dying due to work stress is so not worth it. Studies have proven that work stress lead to lowered heart rate variability.
