eBooks on The Go

This morning, I was thinking if I should be considering an electronic gadget to let me store all the books that I want to read such as iRiver W7 or Amazon Kindle. The long rides on the train did get me thinking on how to better utilise my time rather than sleeping. Although it’s a good thing to catch up on my sleep.
Kindle has a 6″ display with a 600 x 800 resolution. iRiver W7, on the other hand, has a 480 x 272 TFT LCD display with support for up to 260K color. It would be unfair to make a comparison between Kindle and W7 as W7 has more functions such as MP3 player.
It would seem that Kindle is out to compete with Sony Reader. Not surprising since they are targeting users who would want to store the books in electronic formats and read them while on the road. It is very handy whereby I can store more than a book without worrying about my luggage or bag space.
Except, I wonder about the battery life.
