Tools to Manage Online Identity
Written by WishBoNe on October 18, 2007 – 4:44 pmI have too many sites. I’m sure you have the same problem too especially when your friends enthusiastically invite you to join Friendster, Multiply, Facebook, Tagged, Hi 5, and all sorts of the 3000+ networks.
Having a hard time trying to track the sites and remembering the passwords and sometimes, different user names? There’s OpenID to help solve your problem, well, partially because not every site has integrated OpenID. Although some are concerned about the privacy of your passwords, it’s a great tool to use except, you need to use the OpenID URL instead of just a user name and password to login.
There are other sites that will help to organise passwords and user names though. OpenID is not the only one providing this service. As with any network, you have to provide a profile and each time, the fields are asking for your first name, last name, birthday, school, work, instant messaging, emails, etc. Want a way to dispense these information without having to re-type them all over again? Social Network Aggregators are here to the rescue.
And I’ve yet to see which one I should be using to organise because not all the sites have integrated such aggregators.
