Why I Haven’t Joined Facebook
Written by WishBoNe on October 8, 2007 – 5:18 pmI’m still hesitating to join Facebook because of all the applications there. Well, not really, it’s more to do with revealing my name and blogs there. I do know the different levels of security I can place there. However, I’m still thinking about it since I’ve 2 invitations, one from the sexy math tutor (Miss Loi) and one from an ex-colleague.
I didn’t even put much details in LinkedIn either. As I do blog about work, there were rants that I never removed. I don’t know how employers here feel about blogging but I don’t want to take the chance. Unless, I can earn enough to feed myself from blogging alone which is impossible because I’ll still need help from advertisers.
I wonder if I’ll feel more comfortable to reveal more details in LinkedIn and Facebook in future.

You can actually set security level to only your friends can see your profiles. Give it a try.

Honest feelings from me? I kinda regret joining Facebook. Imagine getting flooded with requests for various applications that have been allowed to be uploaded there, it’s kinda getting on my nerves. If not for the Scrabble games I have with fellow bloggers, I think I would have abandon it totally.
If someone do not like spam, I wonder how they can live with it. Not me surely. I erased alot of applications which I used to have when friends tag me or send me a virtual gift.

I think I’m starting to worry I might add too many applications as I get over-zealous during the initial stages. New toilet bowl syndrome. I hate spam. I guess I’ll still not join yet. If I get one more invite, perhaps.
