Top Posts Plugin Failed
Written by WishBoNe on August 7, 2007 – 10:35 pmI’ve tried to install the plugin for displaying Top Posts but it failed to show any posts at all. Did I place the codes in the sidebar wrongly? I don’t know. However, I’m uninstalling it. Don’t feel like troubleshooting it. Perhaps someone can direct me to a plugin that uses widget so that it’s easier for me.

Personally I use Popularity, and there’s sample code within the readme which tells you how you can incorporate it into your sidebar.
What I did was then insert the code *above* the widget code, ending up with what I have now on my blog.
I can’t code to save my life, so it should be cake for you, actually.

Oh, above the widget code. I think I shall try it again. I like to eat cake but not bake them

And to think you proclaim to be in the IT industry doing coding. You really should switch lines.
someone you know.

Perhaps I’ve not been clear about what sort of coding I’m familiar with. I never proclaim that I’m an expert at coding in PHP, HTML, CSS or Java for that matter.
That last sentence of yours is rather ambiguious. I won’t know who you are if you don’t leave more specific details.
BTW, thanks for telling me to switch lines. I would if it weren’t for the rising costs of living.

Don’t mind him, mate. No point getting upset over mean remarks, really.
I hope my tip helped. If not, since we are both using the same theme, I can send you my sidebar code to have a look.

Upset, yes. But it’s natural as my 1st reaction
I’ll try it again. Just that I don’t think it’s that important to try it now.

I know what language you code in and is familiar with, trust me on that. Heck, you not even any where near good in JavaScript or VB and even Lotus.
I’ve never label you an expert, cos I never seen you as one even on the codes you’re supposed to do day in day out.
Face it, compare to the average joe who don’t do IT. You’re more used to reading codes. The problem is not whether the codes are complicated or not, it’s just that IT, especially the Web’s coding entry level has went so low, that average joe can do it.
PS: It’s your whining and doing nothing about it that gets to people. Look back in your past, in terms of you job, career, how many have been successful? Good reviews from your peers, management? None?
It’s not the industry, dear. It’s you and your attitude.

You are such a dear for reminding me that I’m irritating you trolls out there.
