Dynamic Navigation & View

Written by WishBoNe on April 13, 2007 – 10:01 pm

I was staring at the screen and looking through the help to find out if there is a way to create dynamic side bar for users to navigate. From what I’ve done, LotusScript is able to retrieve from the view that I’ve created and display them. However, the catch is that the side bar displays the different type of report category and the design is to be designed with a dynamic view based on the side bar selection.

What a headache. I managed to figure out how to get the side bar going, that was easy but the dynamic view is different. The categories will be updated based on the users’ inputs and as programmers, we don’t want to keep creating new views every few weeks. So far, I’ve yet to figure out how to get the dynamic view going, I know I will still need a hidden view to retrieve all the documents. There’s a way to display the results but how do I get the side bar to display the results?

All I can think of at this moment is that the side bar has to contain a field that will store the category’s name and the agent will display the view. Now that I am in a quiet area, I can think clearer now. I just have to create a hidden field that will store what the users have clicked on and the hotspot should call the agent to generate the results. Hope this works. Going to try it on Monday.
