Maintaining Blog as Top

Written by WishBoNe on January 21, 2007 – 12:14 pm

After reading Blog = Dog? by Webomatica, I realised that the analogy of a blog being equivalent to a dog could be true. I have never owned a dog but looking after this blog and 3 others can be a headache. The fleas (spam comments) have been increasing in just 2 days of me being unable to blog anything because of sore eyes. 71 new spam comments! Boy, it does tell me something, I am popular for spam too! :P
The posts have not been easy for me because there are faster posters who post information and links on IT than I can catch up with. Hence, I shall resign myself to posting my discoveries in my learning about Domino programming and support and my other IT-related woes. As if no one else has it, right?

One blog is getting more difficult to maintain especially if you want to be the most mentioned in the blogsphere. The blogsphere is so huge that it has to be divided into different areas such as technology, science, jokes, gardening, video, photo, etc. Tags have been used to bring readers to the blogs but I have found that some blogs, in order to gain more readers, used tags indiscreetly. However, we can’t control that, can we?

It’s a pity that we have read on newspapers where this blogger has suddenly shot to fame due to racists remarks, revealed as the X-rated blogger, and other offences. However, we have never read any spammer being caught and named and photographed, right? Or did I missed that out? *ponder*

It’s not easy to be the top blog, there will always be another blog that is hotter. So, I shall continue my average hits of 30 readers per day than trying to keep tip top for the top read blog.

[...] Top blogs don’t get to the top just by writing adjectives. They contain nouns, pronouns, active, passive, adverbs, past, future and present tense. They also contain coherent sentences to convey their meanings. They don’t hinder web experiences. [...]
