Shop Blogs
Written by WishBoNe on January 8, 2007 – 7:27 amThe teenagers have shop blogs. They are making use of the free registration from Blogger to setup their shops online selling handmade products and unique finds not found locally. They are earning from it and some have earned profits.
The appeal of using blogs to setup shops is because it’s free, hassle-free and easy. There maybe fraudsters out there pretending to buy from you because of the anonymity that Internet has granted. However, there are true buyers who pay on time and no bounced cheques either.
Paypal has been the most popular payment method so far. Fund transfer is used for local transactions. Cold hard cash is sometimes an option because even if the shop owner wanted to transact via Internet, he/she has to be of legal age 18/21 and above in order to have an Internet Banking account. Paypal requires a credit card. Teenagers may not have the good fortune of owning one yet because of their age and their parents may not apply supplementary cards for them.
Now, maybe I can start my own shop blog once I know what I can sell. I bet there are so many shop blogs that have their own unique items being sold, I don’t even think I can get a thin slice of that pie.
