I used not to have a webcam. A few of my friends own a webcam, at least one. Me? None at all. Why, you may ask. Basically, there’s no need for a webcam and there was no hurry to own one at all. Now, with changes in schools, companies, countries and other reasons, it’s good to own a webcam to let yourself be seen by your relatives and friends. I have finally redeemed a webcam after signing up for a free wireless service last month.

It’s small and can be magneted to any monitor. The USB cable is long enough if the tower is on the desk or if the USB port from the tower is near the top of the chassis if it’s on the floor. I don’t feel like mounting it permanently anywhere yet. Currently, there’s no real need for me to be seen via webcam. None of my friends like to use webcam on MSN even though they own one. Maybe it’s supposed to be a fair share case? Like, if I have a webcam, I share it with you via MSN, you must also share with me?

I’ve just tested the webcam, the quality is rather poor, there’s a lot of noise or maybe the sun’s still not up yet and there’s no night mode for this. Since it’s free, there’s only driver installation in the given CD. I can’t expect much from it. Time for my breakfast. It’s Boxing Day.
