Launch IE From Notes Headache
Written by WishBoNe on December 15, 2006 – 3:02 pmAn attempt at upgrade has hit a snag. As what most developers know, the default for Lotus Notes is the Welcome Page. This allows users to setup this page according to their whims. However, we have an intranet portal that is designed for web browsers and we have set the location to browse using “Notes with Internet Explorer”. Hence the display is perfect.
However, the weird behaviour is the R5 Java applets refused to work in R7.0.1 when viewed in Notes client. The view is perfect in IE. What I try to do is to launch the portal when the user launch Notes, short from putting the startup folder with IE and the default homepage as the portal. I wonder why we’re doing it in circles. What a dilemma.
The other headache on the disclaimer for Web Access has been resolved with a little help from the server configurations. I wonder if there is a major impact if everyone were to use Web Access to send and reply mails. Anyone know?
