GPRS Not Compatible With Wifi

Written by WishBoNe on December 12, 2006 – 10:15 am

I’m so lost. I had tried setting up my WAP over GPRS a few days before the free wireless was announced. I had successfully used the WAP on Dopod 838Pro. It was a breeze, I just entered the proxy address and port number and volia! It works!

However, I tried using wifi but with the proxy address, the wifi refused to work. So, I unticked the checkbox. My wifi works! However, when I tried to use GPRS by keying in the proxy address, GPRS fails miserably. I don’t know what’s wrong. I had tried to reset by using the Network Wizard. It didn’t work. I had tried putting in the proxy in a number of places which I thought I had initially place; now this is a major mistake, I should have made use a my camera to capture the settings before trying the wifi, GPRS refused to work.

I’ve checked the website of my mobile provider and there’s absolutely nothing about setting up GPRS for Dopod 838Pro. The website fails in displaying the page when a few weeks back, it was working fine.  I’m just going nuts! How can I use GPRS and Wifi without having to sacrifice on the proxy address?
