Non-Contact

The web has gotten the better of us. Have you tried to email a customer service via the website and waited for weeks for their reply and sometimes none at all? I have used a few different websites to get answers to my problems and have encountered mostly terrible experience.

By far, the worst is Worldcard. I have sent email weeks or eons ago regarding about a replacement for my missing Worldcard and I have not heard from them. So, is their email working or is their junk mail filter working too well? I just need some clarifications, is it that difficult to answer? Or is my English just too complex and I’ve worded my question too long-winded until they lost the meaning? Which part of “Is there a replacement card for it?” did they not understand?

Next comes DopodAsia. Firstly, I had difficulties just trying to get through to their hotline. So, I tried calling their HQ which was helpful in redirecting me to the same hotline number that was simply not getting through in the 1st place and that’s why I’m calling you. I did managed to get through after 2 hours. Frustrating, I tell you. They requested me to send a photo of my handset which I did that evening. Shortly after that, I received a reply saying that the email had been forwarded to their respective department and will get back to me once they have a reply. Unfortunately, I take it to mean “Once we figure out what’s going on and we’ll take as long as we like, so don’t hurry us, we’ll get back at ya.” Yep, it’s been a week and where’s my reply? How long does it take to reset an account and to clarify if I can register online? It just tells me one more thing, I ain’t gonna buy no more products from companies that ain’t good at all in after-sales services.

In conclusion, once we have emails, we have the luxury of replying when we like it, when we are free and if it’s worth replying at all. Telephones and mobiles are no use. Just keep an email so that you may be contactable at when you wished to be contacted. Life with IT can be a paradox.

  1. Registration Problem Resolved « My Life With IT Says:

[...] I’m now happier, I finally got my registration for DopodAsia working after calling to complain that I haven’t received a reply after a week. I don’t understand why that I have to call again to make sure they have done a reset to the previous account. Well, now the next bit will be the installation of my CE-Star. I hope to be able to read and write Chinese characters with it! [...]
