My Life With IT

I was having lunch with my colleague 2 days back when he mentioned that Domino 8 is coming. Not everyone is using R7 yet and R8 is coming. The horrors of all horrors. Upgrading versions is a never-ending cycle.

Even client OS is another headache. Windows 97 to Windows XP and now, Vista. Luckily, there’s no open source for servers yet. Or is there? I am going to develop a phobia for IT support if this continues. Ed Brill has highlighted a rather notable point when Domino upgrades its versions. The versions haven’t really been consistent and end-user trainings can be a headache especially when the end users are from all over the region. This applies to companies that have an IT that is located in one country and the others are just IT administrators taking care of the site.
