Copyrights
Written by WishBoNe on December 6, 2006 – 2:47 amCopyrights is the buzz now. Or maybe it is all along since everyone wants to be credited when due. Just look at what happened when you don’t give credit when due. Imagine your image being used when you’ve specifically stated that it may not be used for commercial purposes unless with written permission. How would you feel? Indignant, of course. And you start to plot revenge in anger, which is not advisable.
Besides images, scripts written and posted for use often contain authors’ or creators’ names. They are the ones who put effort and time to writting the scripts such that they work universally, well, almost since you have to change some of the naming convention to flow along with the rest of your programme. Even quotes are worth putting a name to who quoted it.
Copyrights is a sensitive/tricky issue. A guide would be useful now. You claim to have the rights to this particular photo, script or hot-selling programme that everyone is raving about. However, you can’t seem to make a claim to it because you forgot to put up a patent for it (for product designs mostly) or place a watermark on the image.
Now, I best get going on putting a copyright on this blog because it’s a personal blog about my life with IT.
